Within many religious architectures you will find stained glass windows. These colourful panels, often depicting biblical scenes, animate sacred spaces with dappled light and subtly change the atmosphere depending on the time of day. Similarly, in the modern city, you are met with a landscape of glass and metal that shifts and changes according to the surrounding conditions.

Installed as part of ‘Conviction Fair’ the illuminate series draws a parallel between these two experiences which, at once material and ethereal, can influence perception, human experience and ultimately beliefs.

Realised in aluminium, the series reimagines stained glass panels in the materials of urban space, exploring how light, space, and belief intersect in both sacred and urban environments.
